CHARITY: Friends of the Bethlehem Mounted Police Unit
CASK: Fegley’s “Fruits of Spring” brewed with mango and peach, 11% ABV.
Since June of 2006, the entire proceeds of the Bethlehem Brew Works first Thursday’s “CHARITY CASK NIGHT” has been donated to a local non-profit organization. Better still, the non-profit recipient has the opportunity to present literature and banners, and have representatives on hand for an informal Q&A and info-session about their community work.
A craft brewery draws its character and strength from its community, but it can also give back to the community and help create positive change. That’s the idea behind this series of benefit events that take place at the Bethlehem Brew Works every 1st Thursday of the month.
Our head brewer offers a hand pumped, cask-conditioned ale from a 10-gallon barrel called a firkin. A firkin is a small keg, holds about 9 gallons or so of cask-conditioned, 50°F beer. The cask, or firkin, is always a special, one-of-a-kind beer connoisseur’s treat. It is available only until it runs dry, which could be just hours (or less) after it’s tapped.
Open up your senses to the hop and malt flavors released by drinking a beer from a hand-drawn firkin served at a respectable temperature. Our brewers then work their magic to give each cask its own special character.

Please join Pastor Eric Yeakel from Asbury Church at 7p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at The Brew Works in Allentown for a theological discussion forum called “Brewology.” There will be a specific room designated for these gatherings within the restaurant. The gatherings are open for all to attend.
Pastor Eric is hoping to engage in conversation with many non-churched and nominally-churched people who have various perspectives on matters of faith. We will get the conversations started with some broad theological questions but feel free to bring your own questions. Bring a friend, pull up a chair, and be ready to engage with people of varying religious traditions, philosophical perspectives and life experiences. You’ll be able to share your own thoughts and struggles while maybe learning something new along the way.

On April 15th, we’ll be celebrating our 18 year Anniversary of brewing craft beer in the Lehigh Valley. We really can’t believe it’s been 18 years!
Thinking back to those first weeks and months and how far we’ve come – from brewing for one restaurant to producing and distributing our craft beers all over PA and NJ. The Fegley family, Brew Works Management and Staff are unbelievably thankful to all of our customers, friends, and family who have made us successful for the past 18 years.
Fegley’s 18th Anniversary Ale is a Belgian style tripel fermented on apples with a light aroma of clove and hints of apple. This unfiltered, golden straw ale has subtle flavors of apple and banana followed by a sweet dry finish. 10.5% ABV | 1.100 OG | 100 IBU
This limited edition 18th Anniversary Ale will be available in commemorative 12oz bottles at both Allentown and Bethlehem Brew Works and an exclusive draft release at 5pm at the Bethlehem Brew Works.
Join us earlier in the week for a special Steel Trap Trivia on Wednesday, April 13th with “Retro Trivia” hosted by Steven Bost.

LEARN WHY YOU SHOULD BE ADDING CHOCOLATE TO YOUR DIET – I’ll be honest—I love chocolate year-round. But with the mercury dipping, a cup of hot cocoa or bite of silky, rich dark chocolate seems that much more appealing. Fortunately, as a registered dietitian and the associate nutrition editor of EatingWell Magazine I have come across several health reasons to justify such an indulgence (in fact, chocolate is just one of 9 “Bad” Foods You Should Be Eating). Here’s a roundup of the latest health boons attributed to chocolate… read more.

Wild Fox Farm launched The Footprint Campaign on Earth Day – April 22, 2016.
You can check out the video and learn more about The Footprint Campaign here: http://bit.ly/
The primary goal of the campaign is to reduce the farm’s carbon footprint by transitioning to a rooftop solar array and an efficient walk in cooler. Such sustainable methods come with a price tag though, so we’re teaming up with Barnraiser (like Kickstarter, but for farms/food) to make it happen, hosting a launch party to celebrate the start of a great adventure, and looking to our friends and family for support.
There are a variety of ways to show your support for the campaign, which will run April 22 through June 24. They include:
VISIT – Fegley’s Brew Works (Allentown) April 25 to celebrate the campaign launch.
DONATE – every amount helps, from $5.00 to $500.00.
SHARE – tell your family and friends.
LIKE – Wild Fox Farm on Facebook & Instagram.
CONNECT – for more tips on how to help, email thewildfoxfarm@gmail.com.
The beauty of sustainable growing is at work on Wild Fox Farm, but we need your help to bring the power of sustainable energy to life. Let’s do this!
Thank you.

THE ORIGIN OF MILAGRO It started in 1998 with two college friends, Danny Schneeweiss and Moy Guindi. Danny and Moy saw amazing things happening in the creative scene of Mexico City. All around them, they saw new expressions of international sophistication, youthful energy and passionate creativity. Everywhere except tequila. Tequilas had become one-dimensional caricatures of tradition, or calculated celebrity-driven business ventures, devoid of creativity and truth. Danny and Moy wanted a tequila that bridged two worlds — the deeply rooted integrity of traditional tequila, and the vibrant, creative culture of modern Mexico City. MORE
“Tapas” are small plates or samplings. Please join us for dinner before or after Tequila & Tapas.
From Tapas-Recipes.com:
Tapas – Spain’s greatest food invention “Eat when you drink, drink when you eat” is the philosophy. Spanish men traditionally drink outside the home and rarely alone. They are not meant to be a meal. One tapa per person and a different one with each drink is the idea, then everyone enjoys tasting and sharing. Tapas food is real food – good local ingredients presented with flair.
The idea comes from Andalusia. It started, or so they say, with a piece of bread, soon topped with ham or cheese, balanced over a glass, to keep out the flies – the word tapa means a cover. They were once free snacks included in the price of the drink but today they are mostly ordered separately. In dim caverns, where the sherry barrels are stacked high, men revolve the wine in their copitas, gently sipping, then select a new wine from a different cask. To compare and contrast is part of the ritual. An old man may sit by the door, with a bucket of conchas finas, opening the clams slowly and to order.
It is a life less hectic than our own!
Casa Noble from 2015…“Casa Noble… the history The Casa Noble Tradition starts from a 1700s hacienda surrounded by Blue Agave. The ways and customs of a country’s population, regardless of it’s geographic location, have a strong relation to their foods and drinks. Meal preparation and presentation, and its time to share them, have played a relevant role in how most cultures become known through out history and around the world. This is owed to the customs, traditions and sentiments found in the rituals that surround eating and drinking. A perfect example of all of this can be found in this one word: Tequila. Tequila is one of Mexico’s most significant contributions to the world. This beverage means so much to our culture, because many of our people’s highly regarded values – tradition, perfection, pureness, togetherness, sharing – these same elements were the building blocks in the late 1800s from which Casa Noble began its own quest to produce and offer tequila to the world.” READ MORE

Meet former Brew Master Beau Baden, Beer Historian and Brewer Christopher Bowen, Fegley’s Brew Works head brewer Mike Wieboldt, and other members of the Fegley brewery team.
In the style of British Old Ales, smoked biscuit, floor malted, Maris Otter English Malts and Hops were used. Fire roasted barley and a special ingredient called Essentia Bina – think homemade molasses – were used in the brewing process. Check out Bowen’s Facebook Page for pictures of Essentia Bina – smoking the sugar, boiling over a fire for hours before setting the pot on fire, adding color and a peat like taste. ‘Old Ale’ is a somewhat sweet, rich and full bodied.

Beau Baden, a Scranton native, is an award-winning Brew Master who brewed for Fegley’s Allentown and Bethlehem Brew Works of Allentown and Bethlehem from 2005 until April 8th, 2016. Goundie’s Ale was one of his last brews for Fegley’s family owned and operated breweries.
It is with a heavy heart that we bid Beau farewell as he enters a new stage of his brewing career with Susquehanna Brewing Co. Beau will always be part of the Fegley Brew Works family…” Jeff Fegley, owner Fegley’s Brew Works MORE
Baden’s most recent awards while brewing for Fegley’s included a gold medal win for Arctic Alchemy and a bronze medal win for his Berliner Weisse at the Great American Beer Festival in 2014. Arctic Alchemy was brewed based on a recipe derived from Bowen. MORE

The limited release F.B.I.P.A. was brewed privately at Fegley’s Allentown Brew Works. When the story about this new Black IPA was leaked by an unknown source, it caused a frenzy, putting it on the Most Wanted List. Some feel that the F.B.I.P.A. should be under investigation for its unique flavor profile, however, bottles and kegs have already been sent to select locations and the beer is ready to be released on November 10th, 2016. There’s no stopping this wayward brew!
Stop by either of our locations on November 10th to investigate the F.B.I.P.A for yourself. From the first sip, you’ll see why this beer is already on the most wanted list. Get here early for the chance to steal some merchandise:
The F.B.I.P.A. will be available to purchase in 12 packs of 12 oz bottles, kegs and on draft at both of our locations.
Missing the release of this deceptively citrusy IPA is one crime you don’t want to commit.

Traditionally, cask beers are naturally carbonated by yeast being added during a second fermentation rather than adding CO2. Casks can be gravity drawn typically from barrels laying horizontally, or from typical looking ”kegs” that have been naturally carbonated. Experience REAL ALE, sample the difference at The Great Allentown Brew Works Cask Beer Festival. Open your senses to tradition – beer the way it was meant to be. Official definition from Wikipedia…
Cask ale or cask-conditioned beer is unfiltered and unpasteurized beer which is conditioned (including secondary fermentation) and served from a cask without additional nitrogen or carbon dioxide pressure. Cask ale may also be referred to as real ale, a term coined by the Campaign for Real Ale, often now extended to cover bottle-conditioned beer as well. Read more…

Brewed with 160 pounds of the blackest of black coffee, this EXCLUSIVE stout is deliciously dangerous. With an ABV of 13%, this silky smooth coffee stout will even give the biggest coffee addicts quite the perk. To finish it off, this stout was aged in freshly dumped Woodford Reserve barrels, adding the perfect amount of bourbon flavor.
