Since June of 2006, the entire proceeds of the Bethlehem Brew Works first Thursday’s “CHARITY CASK NIGHT” has been donated to a local non-profit organization. Better still, the non-profit recipient has the opportunity to present literature and banners, and have representatives on hand for an informal Q&A and info-session about their community work.
A craft brewery draws its character and strength from its community, but it can also give back to the community and help create positive change. That’s the idea behind this series of benefit events that take place at the Bethlehem Brew Works every 1st Thursday of the month.
Our head brewer offers a hand pumped, cask-conditioned ale from a 10-gallon barrel called a firkin. A firkin is a small keg, holds about 9 gallons or so of cask-conditioned, 50°F beer. The cask, or firkin, is always a special, one-of-a-kind beer connoisseur’s treat. It is available only until it runs dry, which could be just hours (or less) after it’s tapped.
Open up your senses to the hop and malt flavors released by drinking a beer from a hand-drawn firkin served at a respectable temperature. Our brewers then work their magic to give each cask its own special character.

Be among the very first to sample the winning Pale Ale “LVBW4″ and meet Dave Bennett – the homebrewer behind the recipe for LVBW4. Dave’s brew won the ‘Be Our Brewer For a Day Competition” October, 2015 and brewed the beer on January 30th, 2016 with Fegley’s brew master Beau Baden at the Allentown Brew Works. More about Dave’s win.
Fegley’s infamous Beerman will make an appearance doing whatever it is he does best… giving out FREE SAMPLES of LVBW4!
Dave Bennett, a Union Ironworker Foreman from Northern New Jersey, is a big fan of Imperial Stout and a self-confessed “hop-head but have not yet perfected one (IPA) of my own. So that quest continues…” But his winning pale ale was ‘perfected’ and brewed with Matcha green tea, honey, mango, peach, and a touch of Demerara sugar.

The way this program works is simple. We get together with a local non-profit organization, ask them if they would like to participate, and choose a date. Friends, colleagues and fans of the organization print out Dine Back ticket vouchers, bring them along on the designated date and give the ticket to their server or bartender. At the end of the night we tally things up and will donate 20% of the ticket holder’s purchases back to the charity.
We’re looking forward to seeing some new faces at Fegley’s through this program, and we hope that you join us in supporting the local community. Anytime we can, we try and find ways to give back to this community which has given us so much throughout the years.
If you are a member of a non-profit and would like to join us for a Dine Back event please contact community@thebrewworks.com for more information.

On April 15th, we’ll be celebrating our 18 year Anniversary of brewing craft beer in the Lehigh Valley. We really can’t believe it’s been 18 years!
Thinking back to those first weeks and months and how far we’ve come – from brewing for one restaurant to producing and distributing our craft beers all over PA and NJ. The Fegley family, Brew Works Management and Staff are unbelievably thankful to all of our customers, friends, and family who have made us successful for the past 18 years.
Fegley’s 18th Anniversary Ale is a Belgian style tripel fermented on apples with a light aroma of clove and hints of apple. This unfiltered, golden straw ale has subtle flavors of apple and banana followed by a sweet dry finish. 10.5% ABV | 1.100 OG | 100 IBU
This limited edition 18th Anniversary Ale will be available in commemorative 12oz bottles at both Allentown and Bethlehem Brew Works and an exclusive draft release at 5pm at the Bethlehem Brew Works.
Join us earlier in the week for a special Steel Trap Trivia on Wednesday, April 13th with “Retro Trivia” hosted by Steven Bost.

Wild Fox Farm launched The Footprint Campaign on Earth Day – April 22, 2016.
You can check out the video and learn more about The Footprint Campaign here: http://bit.ly/
The primary goal of the campaign is to reduce the farm’s carbon footprint by transitioning to a rooftop solar array and an efficient walk in cooler. Such sustainable methods come with a price tag though, so we’re teaming up with Barnraiser (like Kickstarter, but for farms/food) to make it happen, hosting a launch party to celebrate the start of a great adventure, and looking to our friends and family for support.
There are a variety of ways to show your support for the campaign, which will run April 22 through June 24. They include:
VISIT – Fegley’s Brew Works (Allentown) April 25 to celebrate the campaign launch.
DONATE – every amount helps, from $5.00 to $500.00.
SHARE – tell your family and friends.
LIKE – Wild Fox Farm on Facebook & Instagram.
CONNECT – for more tips on how to help, email thewildfoxfarm@gmail.com.
The beauty of sustainable growing is at work on Wild Fox Farm, but we need your help to bring the power of sustainable energy to life. Let’s do this!
Thank you.

Meet former Brew Master Beau Baden, Beer Historian and Brewer Christopher Bowen, Fegley’s Brew Works head brewer Mike Wieboldt, and other members of the Fegley brewery team.
In the style of British Old Ales, smoked biscuit, floor malted, Maris Otter English Malts and Hops were used. Fire roasted barley and a special ingredient called Essentia Bina – think homemade molasses – were used in the brewing process. Check out Bowen’s Facebook Page for pictures of Essentia Bina – smoking the sugar, boiling over a fire for hours before setting the pot on fire, adding color and a peat like taste. ‘Old Ale’ is a somewhat sweet, rich and full bodied.

Beau Baden, a Scranton native, is an award-winning Brew Master who brewed for Fegley’s Allentown and Bethlehem Brew Works of Allentown and Bethlehem from 2005 until April 8th, 2016. Goundie’s Ale was one of his last brews for Fegley’s family owned and operated breweries.
It is with a heavy heart that we bid Beau farewell as he enters a new stage of his brewing career with Susquehanna Brewing Co. Beau will always be part of the Fegley Brew Works family…” Jeff Fegley, owner Fegley’s Brew Works MORE
Baden’s most recent awards while brewing for Fegley’s included a gold medal win for Arctic Alchemy and a bronze medal win for his Berliner Weisse at the Great American Beer Festival in 2014. Arctic Alchemy was brewed based on a recipe derived from Bowen. MORE
