Since June of 2006, the entire proceeds of the Bethlehem Brew Works first Thursday’s “CHARITY CASK NIGHT” has been donated to a local non-profit organization. Better still, the non-profit recipient has the opportunity to present literature and banners, and have representatives on hand for an informal Q&A and info-session about their community work.
A craft brewery draws its character and strength from its community, but it can also give back to the community and help create positive change. That’s the idea behind this series of benefit events that take place at the Bethlehem Brew Works every 1st Thursday of the month.
Our head brewer offers a hand pumped, cask-conditioned ale from a 10-gallon barrel called a firkin. A firkin is a small keg, holds about 9 gallons or so of cask-conditioned, 50°F beer. The cask, or firkin, is always a special, one-of-a-kind beer connoisseur’s treat. It is available only until it runs dry, which could be just hours (or less) after it’s tapped.
Open up your senses to the hop and malt flavors released by drinking a beer from a hand-drawn firkin served at a respectable temperature. Our brewers then work their magic to give each cask its own special character.

Join us on February 20th at 1pm at Fegley’s Allentown Brew Works for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Lehigh Valley Beer Week!
Be among the very first to sample the winning Pale Ale “LVBW4″ and meet Dave Bennett – the homebrewer behind the recipe for LVBW4. Dave’s brew won the ‘Be Our Brewer For a Day Competition” October, 2015 and brewed the beer on January 30th, 2016 with Fegley’s brew master Beau Baden at the Allentown Brew Works. More about Dave’s win.
Fegley’s infamous Beerman will make an appearance doing whatever it is he does best… giving out FREE SAMPLES of LVBW4!
Dave Bennett, a Union Ironworker Foreman from Northern New Jersey, is a big fan of Imperial Stout and a self-confessed “hop-head but have not yet perfected one (IPA) of my own. So that quest continues…” But his winning pale ale was ‘perfected’ and brewed with Matcha green tea, honey, mango, peach, and a touch of Demerara sugar.
February 20 to February 27, 2016
Brought together by a love of and passion for craft beer, a group of pubs, restaurants and breweries in and around Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton have risen to champion Lehigh Valley Beer Week. The week will feature a variety of craft beer related events across the Lehigh Valley; a week-long celebration of community, friends, and craft beer.
The hallmark of Lehigh Valley Beer Week will be the communication and collaboration of Lehigh Valley venues to host a series of craft beer related events. So far, pub takeovers, brew tours, beer tastings, beer dinners, rare beer releases, and a host of other events are already scheduled with more to come. At Fegley’s Brew Works, we’ll be featuring an array of craft-beer related events listed below.
