This 8% Belgian style tripel was brewed with a special blend of green tea, peppercorns, and ginger.
In 2013, our friends: Cameron Saunders, Matt Satten, Archie Knight, Chris Rinaldi, and Pat Loquasto from Shangy’s, craft beer distributor in Emmaus, PA, stopped by the brewery at Allentown for a day of brewing. They collaborated with Fegley’s Brewery team on a Belgian Ale brewed with a special blend of peppercorns, ginger and green tea. They originally named the beer “Shangri-La” and it was released on draft at Allentown Brew Works and locally distributed in kegs.
A couple of years later, Brewmaster Beau Baden and Fegley’s brew crew decided to brew the well-received beer again, put it in 750ml corked & caged bottles, and aged it. Due to slight variations to the recipe and because our friends at Shangy’s weren’t able to collaborate this time around, we decided to rename it to “Shang-High”.
