A classic south German-style wheat beer crafted with the finest German hops and served unfiltered to preserve the unique clove and banana aromas produced by the yeast. Served in a 1/2 liter vase-shaped Weizen glass garnished with lemon.
Hefe means “with yeast” and Weizen “wheat”.
The lemon garnish is a popular citrusy pop, used to cut the breadiness of the wheat and yeast, but some find it damaging to the head retention and damaging to the delicate complexity of the flavor esters retained in the unfiltered beer. Which do you prefer?
Served in a 1/2 liter vase-shaped Weizen glass garnished with lemon. Pairs well with Salads, German cuisine, and tangy cheeses like Edam, Chèvre, and Boursin. Goes well with poultry, fish, and shellfish, and tart desserts and pies.
Pours a cloudy golden hue with a proud, sticky head. The aroma is yeasty and lemony with banana and clove. Flavors follow the nose and become defined as malted wheat and earthy yeast, with soft banana, clove, and a touch of fennel. Chewy mouth-coating body finishes clean with a bit of alcohol presence to keep the fruit and spice esters in harmony.
