Lehigh Valley Beer Week 2016 Ribbon Cutting

“LVBW4” – The winning brew from the ‘Be our brewer for a day’ contest and the official beer of Lehigh Valley Beer Week, collaboratively by homebrewer Dave Bennett and Fegley’s brewery, was tapped on Saturday, February 20th in front of quite a crowd at the Allentown Brew Works who hosted the official Ribbon Cutting for Lehigh Valley Beer Week 2016.

Attendees were among the first to sample “LVBW4”: the winning entry from Lehigh Valley Beer Week’s “Be Our Brewer For A Day” Homebrew Competition that took place in October, 2015. LVBW4 was brewed by homebrewer Dave Bennett alongside Fegley’s Brew Works brewery staff. Bennett’s winning homebrew is a Matcha green tea infused pale ale formally named “Summer Seduction”. This pale colored fruit beer was brewed with German Perle hops Matcha green tea, mango, peach, and a touch of honey for a sweet finish and weighs in at 11% ABV, 1.100 OG, and 20 IBU.

LVBW President Scott Adams, Dave Bennett, Fegley’s Brew Master Beau Baden, owners and representatives from more than 60 Lehigh Valley Beer Week participating restaurants, pubs, distributors and breweries were in attendance as well as Fegley’s Brew Works mascot, The Beerman, handed out free samples of LVBW4 and stopped for photos with Lehigh Valley Beer Week’s official symbol; a handmade, historic brewery mash rake.

This is the 4th year for Lehigh Valley Beer Week to be held February 20th through February 27th packed with 175+ craft beer centric events. LVBW4 Pale Ale will be available at participating venues during the week, bringing the Lehigh Valley a ‘sip of summer’ in the heart of winter.
