Everyone’s Favorite Fall Whisky Festival!

October 13th, 2015 | , , , ,

Allentown, PA – On Saturday October 17th, Fegley’s Brew Works will be holding their 6th Annual Whisky Festival from 5pm-8pm at the Allentown Brew Works restaurant and brewery.  There will be more than a dozen styles of whisky to choose sampling from including Glenfiddich 14 Year Old Rich Oak, Tin Cup Colorado Whisky, The Balvenie 14 Year Golden Cask Rum Finish, and whisky from Bethlehem’s very own distillery Social Still among other selections. Fegley’s Whisky Festival is the first of two Fall festivals with “Fegley’s Brew Works Craft Beer Festival” to follow on December 5th.

Barrel aged and whisky brewed craft beers will also be featured. Fegley’s Brew Master Beau Baden will be offering two exclusive first-time releases at the Whisky Festival: “Bourbon Barrel Rude Elf’s Reserve” and a “Bourbon Barrel Barley Wine”. Fegley’s Rude Elf’s Reserve is a Great American Beer Festival Bronze Medal winning Belgian Strong Ale. The holiday ale was aged for more than four years in Kentucky bourbon barrels in the cellar at Fegley’s Allentown Brew Works. Shortly after the Whisky Festival, Bourbon Barrel Rude Elf’s Reserve will be released to the public for sale in corked & caged, 750ml bottles.

Baden brewed the Bourbon Barrel Barley Wine for Fegley’s Bethlehem Brew Works 17th year anniversary and aged a portion of it in bourbon barrels since April 15th. The brew is deep mahogany in color and has an assertive hop character balanced by the perfect amount of malt. Baden notes, “both of these styles of beers are perfect for cellaring and aging. The tannins and char in the bourbon oak barrels mellow the sugars and spices.”

In addition to tasting these new releases, attendees will also enjoy barrel aged, whisky infused malt beverage creations such as Weyerbacher’s Barrel Aged D’Tango Unchained & Insanity, New Holland’s Barrel Aged Dragon’s Milk, Uinta Brewing’s Bourbon Barrel Pumpkin, Shawnee Craft’s Bourbon Barrel Porter, Full Pint’s Rye Rebellion and Stone’s Bourbon Barrel Aged Arrogant Bastard.

Food offerings will include a Southern chicken barbecue soup, Chef Bert’s Blues, Brews & BBQ award winning baked beans and house-smoked honey BBQ pulled pork, whisky mac & cheese, and more.
