This German Style wheat beer is made the Bamburg way, with a hint of smoked malt to warm you up during the cold months.
Before the modern era, beer naturally had a smokey character because they would dry the malt over an open flame. In the 18th century, it became more common to dry malt using a kiln, which eliminated the smokey flavor from the grain, making the smoked style of beer less and less common. However, a few breweries in Bamburg, Germany, continue to dry malt over an open flame, producing their beers with a smokey character.
