FEGLEY’s ESB

EXTRA SPECIAL/STRONG BITTER

ABV 5.4%
IBUs 35
Original Gravity 1.054
Malts Chocolate, Crystal, Pale
Hops East Kent Golding, Magnum

From day one, this was the beer we simply gave our family’s name. The most popular beer to fill your 64oz growler. This British style ale is a great alternative for those who enjoy beers with more body and color as found in some popular Amber Lagers and Boston Ales. A solid drinkable beer, ESB stands for “Extra Special Bitter” a style rounded with malty flavor and balanced with hop bitterness.

President Barack Obama enjoyed a Fegley’s ESB during a visit to the Bethlehem Brew Works in April 2008. The President lunched with Peg Fegley on his “listening tour” and praised the Fegley family’s investments in the downtown cities of Bethlehem and Allentown.

“Now that’s a good beer!”
– President Barack Obama

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Serve in a Pint Glass. Pair with BBQ pork, and buttery cheeses - Brie, Havarti, Swiss. Accompany pork and wild game, and hearty desserts like bread pudding.

TASTING NOTES

Pours a deep reddish/copper, earthy sweet malt aroma with fruit esters, with a rich flavor and medium body holding the traditional herbal hop character of the ESB style.
