Green Drinks Gets a Nod

Five years ago Diane Teti brought Green Drinks to the Lehigh Valley and to the Allentown Brew Works. This event is a place for people to come together and discuss environmental issues in relation to business, living, society, and a host of other topics. The amount of speakers that have come to the Allentown Brew Works and shared their knowledge is beyond count. Recently, Lehigh Valley Live posted a wonderful article detailing the history, purpose, and impact of this event.

Reading that article, we were reminded of how much has happened since the Brew Works opened its doors. We’ve grown both as a restaurant and brewery and as a voice of sustainable energy and living policies. Green Drinks is representative of how we feel and who we are.

We pride ourselves in having our energy sourced from solar and wind. We pride ourselves in our composting initiatives that prevent over a half ton of refuse from being deposited in landfills. We pride ourselves in our switch to LED lighting in order to reduce wasted energy.

We don’t feel self conscious or boastful when we speak of these things knowing that the louder our voice is, the farther it reaches. The more people hear us, the more we can spread our desire to show other citizens and businesses that green energy and sustainability are achievable goals.

Green Drinks is held every month at the Allentown Brew Works. We encourage all people to come out and have a listen. Maybe you’ll hear something new or learn something that could change the way you perceive the world around you.
